North Loch Lomond (Inversnaid-Inverarnan)

** Update 10th October – Due to the recent heavy rain, we have had reports that this section which may become impassable (if bad weather conditions continue) because of high stream levels. Streams rise fast and can subside fast too. The area is described as Boundary Bridge over the Allt Rostan about 3.5 to 4 km (about 2.5 miles) north of Inversnaid.**

** Update 6th October – This section has been checked today and there is no sign of a landslide. However due to heavy rain over the past few days some burns and streams may be fuller than usual. As always please take care, especially in adverse weather conditions. **


5 October

Due to the bad weather over the last few days, there are some stretches of the West Highland Way north of Inversnaid where the path has been adversely affected by excess water and mud.  National Park Rangers are investigating so please exercise caution until this can be properly assessed.


Alternative options (until 31 October):

Waterbus: Cruise Loch Lomond, Inversnaid to Tarbet at 2.15pm and 3.30pm daily.

Then Citylink or ScotRail from Arrochar & Tarbet to Ardlui or Crianlarich.

If you take the train or bus up to Ardlui,  you can then cross back over to Ardleish and rejoin the path north of where there may be problems.

On demand Ardlui Ferry running from Ardlui Hotel-Ardleish: on the hour.

Back from Ardleish: 10 past the hour.

Finishes at 6pm.

(You MUST raise the ball at Ardleish to summon the ferry.
Raise as soon as you arrive and the ferry will come at the scheduled time.)
