Thistle Trekking

Thistle Trekking provides guided group trekking holidays on the West Highland Way, and many of Scotland’s long-distance trails. Bringing over a decade’s experience of providing WHW treks, we have everything in place to help you enjoy this famous trail.

Our WHW packages include friendly qualified guides, 8 nights accommodation, luggage transfers, vehicle support and much more besides.

All our guided treks give you the luxury of enjoying the walk without having to worry about organising all the details. Each trek is staffed with a walking guide and a trek manager to ensure everything runs smoothly. This means you can just enjoy the trail and let us do all the worrying for you!

Our guides will not only help keep you on track but also share their love and knowledge of the trail.
Each has their own area of interest, whether that be Scotland’s geology, nature, environment or history, and will delight in sharing this with you. Our trek managers will drive your support vehicle, know all the best places to eat and drink in the evenings, and have the local knowledge to make the logistics of a group trek run smoothly. They are all qualified UK Mountain Leaders and certified outdoor first aiders, and crucially love sharing long-distance trails with our walkers.

We walk the route over 7 days, which we find to be the ideal way to split the 96 miles into manageable sections. Although, our guides help and encourage all our walkers to do as many of these miles as they can, our support vehicle is always on hand as backup to help those who need it. If you do need to skip a section or a day we’ll be there to help.

Our treks are an ideal way for individuals to join a friendly group and enjoy a shared experience on the West Highland Way with like-minded walkers from all over the world. Every year we welcome solo travellers, couples, families and friends into our open group West Highland Way treks.

Each year we also provide packages for private groups. These are setup on a bespoke basis to tailor the trek to the requirements of your group.
